You have the ability to directly impact the future leaders in our community through your time, talent, and treasure. At this breakfast, you will learn about opportunties to invest in youth as a donor and volunteer as a mentor.
In Fall 2011, Pierce Elementary in Birmingham, iMatter For Kids, and Winning Futures will implement an after-school mentoring program for 4th and 5th grade students. This pilot program for 25 students will engage adult mentors from the community to empower students to develop into strong, caring lead- ers and to know they matter. Parents will also attend family workshops with their children.

iMatter for Kids, in partnership with Winning Futures, is implementing a character education program in the Birmingham Public Schools. A pilot program will start at Pierce Elementary in September 2011. The goal is to roll the program out to multiple schools over the next five years. The Winning Futures’ Road to Success curriculum will be the backbone of the program which will including mentoring sessions and family workshops.
